Nursing Service Assistant - PACU - Flex - Evening Shift

Overview

Christiana Care is looking for a full-time Service Assistant I - PACU to transport patients to and from PACU. Provides equipment to support patient transport requirements. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Ensure supplies are adequately stocked on the unit.

Evening Shift 3:00p - 11:30p

• Transports patients via stretcher, wheelchair, beds, and specialized vehicles as directed by peri anesthesia charge nurses and leaders.
• Maintains all patient and ancillary areas of the peri anesthesia areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Maintains all carts/equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Carts/equipment are not to be left unattended. Remove ALL empty boxes from carts/closets/floors in all areas.
• Maintains a clean/orderly appearance in all Environmental Services closets.
• Maintains supplies in bedside drawers, cabinets, and airway/isolation boxes in PACU.
• Maintains paper and soap/hand gel supplies in all areas of the Christiana PACU.
• Cleans/disinfects all precaution rooms in accordance with infection control policies/procedures.
• Answers Environmental Services texts/calls when assigned in a timely manner. Turn phones on and open Vocera app immediately when clocked in for your shift and log into each app on the phone to be prepared to work.
• Attends regularly scheduled in-service training programs given by the department.
• Reports any maintenance problems or damages to Supervisor/Manager.
• Maintains a helpful, productive attitude throughout the workday.
• Picks up trash and soiled linen in PACU.
• Cleans/disinfects empty rooms in a timely manner for the next patient by rounding the cores.
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to the supervisor in a timely manner.

• High school diploma preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

• Potential exposure to infectious disease unless special precautions are followed.
• Safety glasses must be worn at all times.
• Frequent:
  Handwashing.
• Intermittent exposure of skin to dilute cleaning agents.

• Continuous: standing or walking; pushing and/or pulling - often involving considerable weight; repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, and/or elbows - often involving considerable weight.
• Intermittent: bending and/or crouching; lifting and/or lowering - occasionally involving considerable weight.
• Must pass back evaluation examination.

This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34. This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.

The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
