Summary Statement
This position is responsible for ensuring the regulatory compliance of long‑term care healthcare agencies and facilities in Delaware. The incumbent will conduct Federal certification and/or State licensure surveys, assess the quality of care and relate findings to statutory/regulatory requirements, develop deficiency reports, review corrective action plans, participate in updating long‑term care regulations, prepare and maintain records, and may appear in courts of law or before boards and commissions.
EssentialFunctions
- Conduct surveys of facilities and agencies for certification and/or licensure by the State and Medicare/Medicaid.
- Consult with agencies and facilities to assist them in meeting requirements and improving overall health care delivery.
- Conduct investigations of complaints against agencies/facilities, including allegations of violations against health care regulations and patient care.
- Conduct in‑service training programs at health care facilities or in the community to educate providers and other interested groups in state‑of‑the‑art health care.
- Prepare and maintain reports, summaries, and records; may be required to appear in courts of law or before boards and commissions.
- At least two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, or a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and at least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, or a master’s degree in Nursing.
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license or a multi‑state compact license.
