Join the Blood Bank of Delmarva, a premier provider of blood products and services. We are seeking a full‑time Blood Collection Technician I to perform whole blood collection procedures and support donors in the donor room.

Tuesday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Wednesday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Thursday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (rotating)
Saturday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (rotating)
Sunday Closed

• Prepare donor interview materials and phlebotomy equipment; ensure compliance with quality control standards.
• Conduct confidential donor interviews to determine eligibility according to BBD standards.
• Initiate whole blood collection, monitor donor progress, and respond to adverse reactions.
• Perform post‑draw activities: clean equipment, restock supplies, and store items in a controlled area.
• Recruit and schedule automated donor appointments; perform biohazard cleanups, dating of supplies, and recovery room duty.
• Register donors in the BBCS system and provide required educational materials.
• Provide excellent customer service and exemplify BBD’s Mission and Core Values.
• Assist with mobile blood drives and other assigned sites as needed.

• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of face‑to‑face customer service or patient care experience.
• CPR certification is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and a welcoming attitude.
