Christiana Care is hiring a Medical Assistant I for the Endocrinology clinic in Newark, DE. The role involves supporting patients both virtually and on-site, preparing for visits, performing point‑of‑care testing, injections, medication administration, EKGs, assisting clinicians, and managing administrative duties.
Base Pay Range$19.10/hr – $27.69/hr
Work Schedule- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Rotate to other practices for cross coverage as needed
- Greet and support patients virtually and on‑site
- Prepare patients for virtual visits
- Perform point‑of‑care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs
- Assist clinicians with examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
- Complete patient‑specific paperwork and update EMR
- Handle patient call backs, sterilization, prior authorizations, referrals, and medical refills
- Schedule tests, procedures, and surgeries
- Perform quality control on POCT equipment
- Provide documentation assistance and perform clerical duties
- Troubleshoot patient issues with video visits and support patients in joining the Patient Portal

- High School Graduate or GED required
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by an organization accredited by the NCCA or ANSI
