Senior Water Resources Engineer – Transportation
Location: Newark, DE
Salary: $88,000 – $135,000

Must-Haves- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
- 5–12 years of professional experience in water resources engineering
- Experience with hydrologic & hydraulic (H&H) modeling, stormwater, drainage, erosion & sediment control design
- Expertise in floodplain management, stream restoration, culvert and bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, and stormwater management design
- Proficiency with engineering software including Micro Station v8i, ArcGIS, HY-8, HEC-RAS, Storm & Sewer
CAD, WinTR-55/20, Hydro
CAD, SMS/SRH2D - Knowledge of state DOT design criteria and prior project experience with DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, DCDOT, or PennDOT
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer – Transportation to support transportation projects across the Mid-Atlantic region, including Delaware and surrounding states. This role offers diversified projects, including bridge replacements, highway improvements, and stormwater infrastructure, with opportunities to perform technical work and project management.
Key Responsibilities- Perform H&H, drainage, erosion & sediment control, and stormwater management tasks for transportation projects
- Develop plans, technical reports, and specifications for clients including transportation agencies, municipalities, private developers, and corporations
- Conduct flood studies, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, and stormwater modeling
- Ensure compliance with state DOT design criteria and client requirements
- Provide high-quality technical writing for reports, specifications, and engineering documents
- Interact with clients on technical challenges and support project management tasks as desired
- Mentor entry-level engineers and provide guidance on project deliverables
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Leadership experience in project-related tasks and mentorship
- Active participation in professional societies and the engineering community
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while collaborating with a team
