About the Role:

Experienced Mechanical Project Manager wanted to lead facilities engineering projects across education, public works, transportation, and government sectors.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical and plumbing system designs, including HVAC, hydronic systems, and domestic/sanitary piping.
  • Oversee junior engineers and drafters; review and approve design documentation.
  • Conduct field investigations, HVAC load studies, energy modeling, and code reviews.
  • Coordinate with permitting agencies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and internal/external communications.
  • Contribute to client presentations, marketing efforts, and proposal development.
  • Provide leadership and performance management to cross-functional project teams.
Work Environment

Office-based ~95% of the time with occasional fieldwork.

Light lifting (up to 25 lbs) and varying outdoor conditions during site visits.

Requirements

Must-Have

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • 12+ years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • HVAC and plumbing systems expertise.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with IESVE and/or Carrier HAP.
  • Strong knowledge of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Nice-to-Have:
  • CAPM, PMP, CxA, or BCxP certifications.
  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, or P3 delivery methods.
  • Background in industrial systems and/or fire protection design.
  • Client-facing and business development experience.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
