Schedule: Full-time, permanent | Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) | Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
We are seeking an experienced Engineer / Project Manager with a background in water, stormwater, and/or wastewater systems to join a utility company in the New Castle County, DE area. This role involves collaborating with a team of engineers to develop designs, perform analyses, process data, and ensure compliance with project specifications and budgets across a variety of engineering projects.
Duties- Support engineering investigations, design, permitting, budgeting, and construction management for water supply, treatment, pumping, and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection, pumping, transmission, treatment, and disposal facilities.
- Design water and wastewater infrastructure, including water supply, treatment, and distribution systems, wastewater collection and treatment facilities, and spray irrigation systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, evaluate alternatives, and provide recommendations and cost estimates for capital projects.
- Oversee project plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with standard and regulations.
- Collaborate with GIS and Survey teams for data collection supporting planning, design and permitting of projects.
- Request and evaluate proposals from consultants and contractors.
- Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and assist with permit applications.
- Provide technical guidance on capital projects and act as a resource for other engineering team members and departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of engineering or project management experience
- Proven track record of successful project leadership and execution in a technical engineering environment
- PE (Professional Engineer) license
- Salary: $110,000 – $165,000 (commensurate with experience and education)
