About the Department/Center:
Student Diversity & Inclusion (SDI) is part of the Division of Student Life. We endeavor to enhance diversity and inclusion opportunities and engagement for students. We offer student internships, create and facilitate programs and trainings, and advocate for students around fairness and access. We strive to build and provide community for all students, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, and first generation college students.
Role
Description:
Working with the program coordinator in Student Diversity and Inclusion (SDI), the Programming Intern will assist with all SDI programs taking place in the Fall and Spring semesters. This includes marketing, content creation, idea development, day-of logistical support, and assessments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the development of large- and small-scale programs within Student Diversity and Inclusion.
- Provide a detail-oriented approach to the execution of events and programs for students.
- Contribute ideas and new perspectives on building student engagement around diversity and inclusion.
- Create marketing materials for programs in collaboration with SDI staff.
- Engage in assessment and research efforts, which may include marketing and promotion of surveys and other data collection strategies, and participation in data interpretation and analysis strategies.
- Provide administrative support, including room reservations and scheduling meetings for student-led groups advised by Student Diversity & Inclusion
- Support the development of an online presence to share information, resources, and events related to inclusion and belonging.
- Collect and gather information and resources from UD comparator institutions and external-to-UD organizations around diversity and inclusion support and education.
- Serve as an ambassador for Student Diversity & Inclusion and participate in the general promotion of student success and engagement around diversity and inclusion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Experience planning large- and small-scale events and programs.
- Proficient in Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Instagram.
- Reliable and dependable in performing job-related projects and tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective leadership, team building, and collaboration skills.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Interest in higher education/student life, graduate education, or professional experiences
- Demonstrated commitment and interest in campus climate and culture.
- Experience with creating events and marketing.
