An incumbent is responsible for collaborating with faculty to design curriculum and courses; designing, developing, evaluating, and teaching instructional design and technology courses; managing and completing projects; evaluating and recommending appropriate technologies; advising and supporting faculty in a manner consistent with instructional design and technology best practices; coordinating professional development programs; coordinating and conducting workshops; providing first class customer service; and facilitating experiences that prepare instructors to teach in any environment (including online).
Off-site travel to other campus locations is required.
Nature and Scope
An incumbent in this class typically reports to an administrative or technical superior. An incumbent will collaborate with Delaware Tech faculty to advance teaching and learning through state-of-the-art techniques, applications, and environments. Duties include, but are not limited to, collaborating with faculty to design curriculum and courses; designing, developing, evaluating, and teaching courses in Delaware Tech’s Instructional Design and Technology Certificate program;
advising and supporting faculty to learning approaches that are consistent with best practices in instructional principles and theories; educational technology project management; evaluating requests for technology-based learning projects and recommending technologies that match instructional objectives; coordinating the development and delivery of faculty professional development programs; designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting instructional technology workshops that promote technology integration that enhances instruction;
teaching courses that prepare faculty members to teach in classrooms and online; and collaborating with faulty one‑on‑one to design courses and teaching strategies using advanced techniques.
Principal Accountabilities
An incumbent may perform any combination of the below listed accountabilities:
Consults with Deans, Department Chairpersons, and faculty related to the creation and implementation of innovative degree programs, including those that feature technology enabled learning, distance education mediums, and multimedia tools and methods.Designs, develops, evaluates, and teaches courses in Delaware Tech’s Instructional Design and Technology Certificate Program.Designs, develops, and delivers technology orientations aimed at promoting learner satisfaction and success.Designs, develops, and delivers professional development programs for faculty via formal workshops, informal interactions, and one‑on‑one sessions designed to establish, enhance, and expand competency in pedagogy and the use of instructional technology.Manages instructional design and technology projects and their associated Center for Creative Instruction & Technology (CCIT) personnel, budgets, and timelines, as designated and directed by the Director of Instructional Design and Technology.Advises and coaches Delaware Tech educators on pedagogical techniques, strategies, and instructional technology best practices.Participates in collaborative activities with others across the college who provide counsel, recommendations, services and support to individuals using instructional technology or providing instructional technology resources to faculty, staff, and students in support of teaching and learning.Interfaces with instructors in order to understand concerns, explains technology in teaching strategies, and offers creative high‑impact techniques and technology enabled teaching solutions.Conducts research for the purpose of identifying trends, technologies, theories, resources, applications, strategies, processes, methodologies, procedures and practices.Fulfills committee responsibilities, attends unit meetings, prepares designated presentations, delivers required reports, and completes other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director of Instructional Design and Technology.Sets and attains challenging goals.Continually supports the Delaware Tech community by adhering to the President’s Characteristics of Excellence.Performs other related…
