Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Our plant located in Newark, CA is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team!

The role of the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) is to manage the quality improvement of purchased parts during serial life and the day-to-day supplier relationship for the Sterling Heights plant.

• Maintain PPAP files & perform periodic requalification, including R & R process audit.
• Manage Defect catalogue and Boundary Sample Evolution.
• Request from supplier initial sample parts and documents.
• Coordinate function build events.
• Validation and approval of Initial Samples for components.
• Supplier ECR management in Serial Life.
• Responsible to define and setup Incoming Inspection instructions and planning.
• Incoming Inspection supervision for the Plant.
• Obtain from suppliers conformity certificates for raw material/components (i.e. Raw Material certificate, Declaration of conformity, etc.).
• Maintain up-to-date evidence of suppliers QMS certificate and others as per OEM or MSAS internal requirements (i.e. PSCR contact, D/TLD audit, etc.) during serial life.
• Temporary Quality Wall implementation in order to protect the Customer (internal &/or external).
• Issue the Quality claim in claim tool and follow up Claim management (8D Reports).
• Supplier’s Action Plan follow-up and validation.
• Issuance of escalation and de-escalation letters.
• Supplier Charges
  -back and recovery management.
• Supplier KPIs Calculation and reporting according to MSAS rules and regulations.
• Worst supplier action plan follow-up (monthly meeting).
• Follow-up supplier’s Audit and Special Audit, following Corrective Action Implementation.
• Implementation of actions by suppliers on S/R characteristics not secured.
• Report and quarantine NOK parts.
• Blocked parts management (Jail).
• Management of Nonconformance, RMA's (Return Material Authorization).

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge about IATF 16949 standards, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC), VDA RGA, VDA 2, VDA 5, VDA 6.3, and VDA 6.5.
• Familiarity of Customer Specific Requirements(CSR), GD&T, and Gage.
• Project experience with APQP/PPAP & transfer criteria & follow up of QA files (Initial sample kept and stored linked with PPAP).
• Variability reduction / SPC; MSA, statistical methodology knowledge.
• Understanding of Strict supplier Control plans, as well as Convergence & Improvement plans.
• Problem Solving Methodology (8D QRCI).
• 8 QB in Production.
• Familiar with supplier second party audits and debit alert process.
• Capable of supplier scorecard evaluations.

• SQA - Grade 10 (Level
  1) salary range: $80,000 - $120,000
