We are seeking a Test Engineer – Vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) to support testing and development activities aimed at optimizing vehicle acoustic performance across prototypes and production vehicles.
About the RoleThe NVH Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing NVH test procedures, analyzing acoustic and vibration data, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to improve vehicle sound quality and structural performance.
This role plays a key part in balancing NVH performance, vehicle mass, packaging, and cost while ensuring vehicles meet target sound quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop test procedures and methodologies to evaluate in‑vehicle NVH performance
- Collect, analyze, and interpret NVH data to guide engineering design decisions
- Work closely with Vehicle Integration, Body, Chassis, and Thermal teams to optimize NVH performance
- Support vehicle‑level NVH target setting and cascade processes
- Perform vehicle and component‑level testing to improve airborne and structure‑borne noise
- Evaluate NVH performance across prototype and production vehicles
- Document results and provide actionable insights to engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or related field
- 2–6+ years of experience in NVH testing or vehicle acoustics
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Structural Dynamics
- Acoustics
- Digital Signal Processing
- Experience using NVH data acquisition systems, accelerometers, and microphones
- Experience with modal testing and order analysis
- Understanding of psychoacoustics and sound quality metrics
- Hands‑on experience with Siemens Test Lab and/or Artemis Suite
- Experience supporting vehicle programs from concept through production
- Experience with NVH fault detection tools such as acoustic cameras or particle velocity probes
- Exposure to:
- Buzz, Squeak & Rattle (BSR) issues
- Operational Sound Quality (OSQ) analysis
- Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams
- Exposure to advanced NVH testing technologies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary automotive engineering teams
- Contribute to improving vehicle comfort and acoustic performance
