Position SummaryThe Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, order fulfillment, and delivery readiness. This role manages warehouse floor activities including order allocation, picking and packing, loading of delivery vehicles, and coordination with drivers to ensure successful route execution.
The Operations Supervisor serves as a key operational leader responsible for supporting warehouse staff and drivers, troubleshooting operational challenges, and ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately, safely, and in compliance with New York State cannabis regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations & Order Fulfillment
- Allocate and prioritize orders for warehouse fulfillment based on delivery schedules and operational capacity.
- Oversee daily picking, packing, and staging operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor warehouse workflows and ensure orders are completed on schedule.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, inventory discrepancies, or order fulfillment challenges.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to manage daily workload and operational priorities.
- Manage warehouse floor operations and supervise fulfillment staff.
- Provide real-time support to warehouse staff during picking, packing, and staging activities.
- Schedule warehouse staff shifts, monitor hours worked, and manage overtime when necessary.
- Provide feedback, coaching, and operational guidance to warehouse personnel.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new staff.
Driver & Delivery Operations
- Supervise the daily launch of drivers and delivery routes each morning.
- Coordinate and verify the proper loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Monitor delivery progress and provide on-the-road support to drivers as needed.
- Assist with resolving delivery issues, delays, or route challenges.
Inventory & Documentation Oversight
- Ensure component inventory counts are completed accurately and verified in a timely manner.
- Ensure Transfer Sheets and Purchase Order receipts are properly completed and documented.
- Maintain accurate operational records related to inventory movement and fulfillment activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce warehouse safety procedures and operational guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and New York State cannabis regulations.
- Monitor safe equipment usage, including forklift operations and warehouse machinery.
- Promote a safe working environment for all warehouse and logistics staff.
Required
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or fulfillment environments.
- Prior experience supervising warehouse or logistics staff.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in the cannabis industry or other regulated industries.
- Experience working with Metrc compliance systems.
- Experience with Canix or other warehouse management / ERP systems
