CF is currently hiring a Sr. Fleet Maintenance Technician for New York, NY! This position is for a Sr level Technician who provides high quality vehicle maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles, primarily Light & Medium-Duty Ford Trucks used in the cable industry. This Technician may work independently or in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience with repairs on light and medium-duty trucks (minimal heavy-duty);
    Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450 and Ford Transit vans or similar.
  • Alternative combinations allowed: higher-level degree/certification in related discipline or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Able to obtain a New York State Inspectors License within the first three months (paid by CF).
  • Possess or obtain within 18 months:
    Master ASE certification and EPA 609 certification.
  • Must pass a DOT physical prior to employment.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • Possess and provide a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
  • OEM training and certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Perform certified DOT and Preventative Maintenance inspections.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: oil and filter changes, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies; repairs may include OBD II systems, brakes, tires, tune-ups, suspension, aerial lifts, electrical systems, inspections, engine, and drive train components.
  • May maintain/repair equipment (cable trailers, laptop docking stations, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean shop area; follow safety standards and dispose of fluids properly.
  • Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records; may up-fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • Perform more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and some fabrication.
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs to assure prompt service; may perform roadside assistance as needed.
  • Provide custom equipment when needed, engaging in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks including welding.
  • Ensure availability of specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic, electrical, and hybrid systems and on-board computer systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
