Bus Driver

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting hourly bus drivers to work up to a maximum of18 hours/week. The hourly rate for 2025/2026is $30.60/hour.

• The interested applicantwould be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a school bus used in the transportation of student son an assigned route.
• Check the operating condition of a school bus before starting a regular run or trip
• Report any mechanical defects of a bus to the bus garage
• Instruct/inform students and program participants about practices when entering or exiting a bus and while in transit
• Maintain the orderly conduct of students on the bus

Application Procedure

• Class B permit with P & S endorsements (training available upon hiring)
• Bus Driver must complete the NYS Basic 30-hour School Bus Driver Instructional Program within the first year of employment
• Responsible for attending and completing all required training
• Candidates are required to submit to an appropriate medical examination conducted by theemploying school district with the requirement of Section 611 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles
• Candidates are required to submit to the district’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Programaccording to federal regulations
• Meet NYSED Physical Performance Test requirements (drag 125 lbs. 30' in 30 seconds)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation)
