Ramp Agent/Ground Service Agent, JFK Airport :

Activities- Drive and/or operate ground support equipment to include tow tractors, tow bars, belt loaders, lower deck loaders, baggage carts, water/lavatory service trucks, cargo dollies, air starts, aircraft air stairs, ground power units.
- Marshall/wing walk aircraft during arrival and departure
- Maintain safety and security on the ramp
- Communicate effectively with ground personnel and flight crews
- Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directed
- Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor/manager
- Load and Unload mail, live animals, wheelchairs and infant strollers onto aircraft.
- Deliver passenger luggage to baggage claim area and load onto conveyor system
- Comply with all federal, state, airport authority, air carrier and/or company requirements
- Safely load baggage into containers for transportation on containerized aircraft
- Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags and cargo labels
- Additional tasks as assigned
- Ability to obtain FAA/Airport required identification, seals and/or authorizations
- Must be able to pass SIDA and job-related training tests in English
- Valid driver’s license with safe driving record
- Flexible work hours (day, evening, night, weekends and holidays)
- Ability to lift heavy objects which may reach up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, walk, crawl, push and/or pull for extended periods of time
