This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations:
Silo Ridge Field Club, set in beautiful Amenia, New York.
Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a Lifeguard to join our Outdoor Pursuits Department. This position is seasonal from May 18 – September 28, 2026.
current lifeguard certification is required.
The Lifeguard is tasked with supporting the safe operation of our aquatic areas, including the pool, lakefront/beach, and water slide. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in being part of a professional lifeguarding operation. We are seeking candidates who are alert, disciplined, confident enforcing rules, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for members and guests at all times.
Working as a Lifeguard at Silo Ridge means being part of a strong team in a beautiful outdoor setting, while delivering the safety standards and hospitality expected as part of the Discovery Land Company experience.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Maintain constant surveillance of pool and lake activity to ensure the safety of all members and guests.
* Identify hazards, prevent incidents, and respond quickly and professionally in emergencies.
* Provide ongoing risk management for aquatic areas, including pool deck, beach areas, and water slide operations.
* Enforce all pool and lake safety rules consistently and respectfully.
* Maintain a controlled, safety-first environment at all times.
* Report any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or maintenance issues immediately to the Head Lifeguard.
* Maintain an organized, clean, and professional appearance of aquatic areas throughout the day
* Assist with daily set-up and breakdown of aquatic equipment and safety supplies
* Attend required meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions
* Provide first aid treatment when necessary
* Participate in drills and maintain readiness for emergency situations
* Perform additional duties as assigned
** Certifications & Training Requirements:
*** Lifeguarding and Waterfront/Deep Water Skills
* CPR / AED / First Aid
*
* Qualifications:

*** 2+ years of experience working in an aquatic environment preferred
* Current Lifeguard certification required
* CPR / AED / First Aid certification required
* Ability to follow oral and written directions in English (additional languages a plus)

* Additional Requirements:

*** Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and a safety-first mindset.
* Ability to stay calm, alert, and focused in high-volume environments.
* Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to meet the physical demands of the role including standing/walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
* Flexibility and willingness to assist with shifting operational needs.
