Position: Swim Team Coach (Seasonal)
Location: Williamsville

Position Summary

The Swim Team Coach is responsible for leading the Clubs youth swim program, including lessons and competitive swim team activities during the summer season. This role involves coaching swimmers of all levels, supervising swim meets, coordinating schedules with other departments, and serving as the primary liaison with parents and participating clubs. The Swim Team Coach plays a vital role in fostering a safe, fun, and positive environment that develops skills, confidence, and team spirit among young swimmers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Swim Instruction & Coaching
    • Develop and oversee swim lessons for children at all ability levels, ensuring high-quality instruction.
    • Train and schedule lifeguards to assist with swim lessons.
    • Coach swim team practices, emphasizing proper technique, conditioning, and team development.
  • Swim Team & Meet Management
    • Coordinate with other private clubs to schedule swim meets, including dates, times, and locations.
    • Organize, supervise, and run all home and away swim meets, including warm-ups, timing and logistics.
    • Create and manage line-ups for swim meets to ensure fair and competitive participation.
  • Scheduling & Coordination
    • Schedule swim lessons to align with availability of other Club programming, including racquet and golf lessons.
    • Collaborate with other department directors to support balanced childrens programming.
  • Parent & Member Relations
    • Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding swim lessons, team communications, and meet schedules.
    • Provide timely and clear updates about swimmer progress, events, and team activities.
    • Promote a welcoming, encouraging environment for children and families.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience coaching swim teams and teaching swim lessons required.
  • Strong knowledge of competitive swimming rules, techniques, and meet management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate staff and swimmers.
  • Current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications required (WSI certification preferred).
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer season.

Compensation details: 22-22 Hourly Wage
