Position Title: Temporary - Athletic Event Staff

Pay: $16.00 / hour

Schedule: Evenings and weekends, as needed.

Accountabilities

Athletic Event Staff members will be needed for Colgate athletic events (football, soccer, field hockey, basketball, ice hockey, lacrosse, softball, and volleyball). Pay ranges from $15.55/hour and up, depending on the job position. Must be able to work as needed, which are mostly evenings and weekends. Become part of the “one team” culture with great customer service skills.

Available Positions
  • Ticket Takers: Collecting game tickets for admission into Colgate athletic home events.
  • Ticket Sellers: Selling game tickets for Colgate athletic home events.
  • Will Call Attendants: Distribute game tickets from various constituents, must follow NCAA, Patriot League, ECAC Hockey, and Colgate University ticket policies.
  • Ushers: Assisting fans to their seats, securing the home facility, and providing event information to customers.
  • Parking Attendants: Facilitating customers through the three parking lots available for Colgate home football and men’s ice hockey games.
  • Score Clock Operators: Operating the scoreboard controller at Colgate athletic home events, working with official crew during game.
  • Statisticians (basketball/volleyball only): Tracking official game stats, working with official crew during games.
  • Instant Replay Operator (basketball/volleyball/ice hockey only): Tracking game situations, working with officials, must train and attend mandatory training sessions before start of season.
  • Instant Replay Spotter (Football only): Assisting the Instant Replay Operator in reviewable game situations during the game, working with officials.
  • Penalty Box Personnel (Ice hockey only): Assisting with timing of penalties and placement/removal of goals during intermissions.
  • Kiosk Attendant (Ice hockey only): Selling Colgate Athletics’ apparel at home events.
Professional Experience / Qualifications

Employee must be dependable, able to work flexible hours, and have great customer service skills with the public. Must be able to stand for extended periods in various weather conditions, work collegially with diverse faculty, staff, and students, and be at least 18 years old. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.
