Athletics Assistant Director of Compliance (HEOa)
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Eligibility serves as CCNY’s chief compliance, eligibility, and regulatory affairs officer. This position is responsible for ensuring institutional control, student athlete eligibility, NCAA Division III compliance, NIL governance, and transfer-portal management across all sports. This role functions as a core governance, audit, and risk-management position within CCNY Athletics.
NCAACompliance & Governance
- Serve as CCNY’s primary liaison to the NCAA, ECAC, CUNYAC, and conference offices
- Interpret, implement, and enforce NCAA Division III legislation
- Monitor recruiting, eligibility, seasons of participation, amateurism, and awards
- Manage waivers, self-reports, violations, and corrective-action plans
- Maintain CCNY’s institutional control and compliance framework
- Certify all student-athletes for practice and competition
- Verify academic eligibility, progress‑toward‑degree, GPA, and enrollment status
- Track participation history, seasons of completion, and eligibility limits
- Coordinate eligibility verification with Registrar, Financial Aid, Advisement, and SEEK
- Manage NCAA Transfer Portal entries and monitor transfer eligibility
- Ensure compliance with NCAA, institutional, and conference NIL policies
- Prevent inducements, pay‑for‑play, and booster violations
- Provide compliance education to coaches, staff, and student-athletes
- Conduct preseason and team compliance meetings
- Prepare and submit required NCAA reports, including GSR, FGR, EADA, squad lists, and financial reports
- Support a culture of gender equality and Title IX compliance initiatives
Bachelor’s Degree and four years’ related experience required.
Preferred- Master’s degree
- Prior NCAA, conference‑office, or compliance‑unit experience
- Transfer Portal and NIL compliance experience
- Experience with NCAA compliance software or reporting systems
- Minimum of four (4) years of NCAA compliance, eligibility, or intercollegiate athletics administration experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and eligibility certification
Salary Range: $82,663 - $98,995. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
