Asset Management Research & Analytics Technology supports the multiple businesses in the Asset & Wealth Management including one of the top Fixed Income asset managers in the world with over $800 billion under management. The team create platforms for analysts and portfolio managers to leverage and create internal fundamental views alongside quantitative models, for example; preparing investment views for Environmental, Social and Governance analysis and sustainable investing.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work side‑by‑side with the Asset & Wealth Management investment professionals and deliver the latest technology solutions while learning finance. You will be working directly on platforms that deliver real impact to the business streamlining investment workflows and providing tooling to help digitize and automate their research and investment process as part of the divisions’ business growth strategy.

The Risk Research & Analytics Technology team is a global team of approximately 30 developers working predominantly with the Fixed Income, Fundamental Equity & Global Risk businesses on all aspects of the risk & research process. The Engineering teams are based in London, New York, The Hague and Bengaluru.

As a developer you will:

• Drive the design and implementation of new features, focusing on code quality, automation and testability.
• Collaborate with a global cross functional team in building customer‑centric products.
• Design flows and systems using cloud and on‑prem technologies to ensure performance, longevity, and scalability of infrastructure.
• Contribute to SDLC documentation and guidance including templates, patterns, and controls.
• Perform peer code reviews and system design reviews and establish code quality standards and software best practices for a distributed systems architecture.
• Gain knowledge of Fundamental Analysis, Sustainable Investing and the Investment Lifecycle. Contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap and contribute to building an engineering culture within our global team.
• Work in a highly innovative technical team with plenty of opportunity to improve and grow your technical skills.

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or related Engineering Field
• 3 plus years of Java development and other programming languages with experience in Object Oriented Analysis, Design and testing best practices.
• Experience in building scalable and distributed platforms.
• Knowledge in one or more SQL dialects (Single Store, Sybase etc) and no‑SQL databases(Elastic, Mongo etc).
• Self‑motivated with analytical mindset who can multi‑task to solve interesting and difficult technical problems under time pressure and resource constraints
• Experience with all stages of the development lifecycle: inception, analysis, design, review, testing, and deployment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A background in data intensive applications and Batch Process.
• Comfortable working in highly dynamic and rapid development environment (Agile development experience).
• Working knowledge/experience in the financial or banking industry
