Proxima has a unique dataset most companies only dream of: real‑time, anonymized cross‑brand transaction data ’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team building AI‑driven products powered by this data, helping independent brands find their perfect customers while helping consumers discover their next favorite products from businesses they’ve never heard of. You’ll be one of the first engineers to shape our AI agent layer, building the intelligent systems, backend services, and interfaces that sit at the core of our product.

• Build, maintain, and scale full stack applications using Type Script, React, and Python
• Work on end-to-end features including AI agent interfaces, orchestration layers, and developer‑facing tools
• Write and style responsive user interfaces using CSS/SCSS
• Design, build, and document backend services and APIs
• Query and manage relational databases using SQL
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to iterate quickly and deliver high‑impact features
• Own projects from architecture to deployment in a fast‑paced, agile environment
• Stay on the cutting edge of modern development practices, especially around AI integration

• 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven experience working in startup environments — you’ve shipped products fast and worn multiple hats
• Proficiency with Type Script, Python, and React
• Experience writing and maintaining CSS in production‑grade web apps
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database design
• Demonstrated experience building or integrating with AI‑powered applications
• Proficiency with AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) is required
• Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Familiarity with building or managing AI agent frameworks, orchestration tools, or embeddings
• Experience with data engineering workflows (ETL, dbt, Airflow, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Compensation Range: $150K - $190K
