As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll design and build the core systems that power Merciv’s agentic infrastructure. You’ll architect services that process massive volumes of enterprise data in real‑time, build the pipelines that feed our AI engines, and ensure our platform scales reliably for Fortune 500 clients who depend on it daily.

This is a DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) role. You’ll own major platform features from architecture to deployment, working closely with ML engineers, product, and our enterprise customers.

• Design, build, and scale backend services using Go and Python that power autonomous retail intelligence for enterprise clients
• Architect data ingestion and processing pipelines that handle millions of data points across internal and external sources
• Build and maintain APIs that serve our agentic AI platform, supporting real‑time decision‑making at enterprise scale
• Collaborate with ML/AI engineers to integrate predictive and prescriptive models into production workflows
• Own system reliability (design for fault tolerance, observability, and performance under high‑throughput conditions)
• Contribute to architectural decisions that shape the long‑term trajectory of our platform
• Mentor junior engineers and establish backend engineering best practices as we scale

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, with meaningful time spent building systems at enterprise scale
• Deep proficiency in Go and/or Python, with strong fundamentals in distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience with both SQL and No
