Software Development Associate, Software Engineer

Job Duties:

Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, New York. Design software architecture, implementation plans and testing strategies for new and existing software applications to fulfill the Firm’s loan business needs. Manage end-to-end software life cycle from requirement analysis, coding, testing, deployment and maintenance as primary developer. Develop Java and Slang applications to process and validate the loans product data transacted by the firm users.

Design data storage schema and persist enriched data to SQL and No

SQL databases. Build software automation to generate reports and ingest data into Data Warehouses as required by internal auditing and external regulatory requirements. Investigate production issues discovered during application use and provide technical solutions in a timely manner. Gather business requirements, conduct user acceptance testing and obtain approval from various Firm stakeholders such as Traders, Strategists, Servicing and Settlement Operations, Controllers, Compliance and other Engineering teams.

Job Requirements:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related Engineering discipline such as Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related software development role. Must have two (2) years of experience with a Master’ degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree with the following: using SQL to create analytic, reporting, and investigative queries against various RDBMS databases such as Sybase IQ or DB2;

developing production applications in Java 8 or higher. Must have one (1) year of experience with: full software lifecycle application development using SDLC build tools and methodologies such as Git Lab, CI/CD, Maven, or NPM; designing high performance software applications;
Unix or Linux shells and shell or Python scripting; and working with cross-functional business stakeholders in a global environment.

Salary Range:
The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $164,000 - $180,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
