Senior Java Full Stack Developer; React Native​/AWS

About the role

As a Senior Java Full Stack Developer (React Native/AWS), you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality software solutions that support business objectives. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with cross‑functional partners to deliver innovative, scalable, and cloud‑based applications using modern technologies such as AWS, React Native, Java, Spring Boot, SQL, microservices, and JavaScript.

This is an onsite role based on business requirements in Columbus, OH and/or New York City. Regardless of work arrangement, we support a healthy work–life balance through our wellbeing programs.

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Build intuitive and responsive user interfaces using React Native and JavaScript to support multi‑platform experiences.
• Design, implement, and optimize SQL and MySQL database structures to ensure data accuracy, availability, and performance.
• Utilize AWS cloud services to deploy, secure, and manage applications in a reliable and scalable environment.
• Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects to ensure smooth application functionality and a seamless user experience.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to support iterative development and timely project delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and team development.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in development methodologies, tooling, and processes.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into engineering practices.

The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 – $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
