Overview

Guardian Life is seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer with a focus on delivery excellence to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Git Hub (or similar), Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Internal Development Platforms, and strong software development skills. This role is critical in ensuring our development processes are efficient, scalable, and reliable.

• The optimal candidate should demonstrate substantial familiarity with Git Hub (or similar).
• In-depth knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Internal Development Solutions, and skilled software development expertise.

• Git Hub
  :
  Design and optimize Git Hub, workflows, and integrations to enhance developer productivity and collaboration.
• Developer Experience
  :
  Improve the overall developer experience by streamlining development workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and providing robust development tools and environments.
• CI/CD Pipelines
  :
  Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable, and secure software delivery.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  Develop and manage infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar, ensuring infrastructure is scalable, maintainable, and secure.
• Internal Development Platforms
  :
  Build and maintain internal development platforms that support the entire software development lifecycle, from code commit to production deployment.
• Apply strong software development skills to develop and maintain tools, scripts, and applications that support platform engineering efforts.
• Collaboration and Support:
  Partner with development teams to comprehend their needs, offer technical assistance, and ensure standard processes are upheld.
• Monitoring and Optimization
  :
  Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance, reliability, and security.

• Experience
  :
  Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on delivery excellence.
• Technical Skills
  :
  Proficiency in Git Hub, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Circle
  
  CI), IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Developer
  
  Experience:
  
  Strong understanding of developer workflows and experience in improving developer productivity and satisfaction.
• Solid OOP fundamentals in C#, Type Script, or Python.
• Strong SQL fundamentals.
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Cloud Platforms
  :
  Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Problem-Solving
  :
  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Communication
  :
  Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Education
:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Location: Three days a week at a Guardian office in New York, NY, Holmdel, NJ or Bethlehem, PA.

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
