Software Development Project Manager

Our client, a fast-growing payroll company serving a diverse customer base, is seeking a Software Development Project Manager to lead the roadmap, backlog, and end-to-end delivery of their core platform.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and enjoys shaping products that power critical business operations.

You will work closely with engineering, leadership, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure features are well‑defined, properly executed, and fully production‑ready. You’ll play a key role in guiding the platform through its next phase of evolution, helping the team scale both technology and processes.

• Own and maintain the product roadmap, including prioritization and scope decisions
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
• Keep the backlog organized, refined, and aligned with strategic goals
• Partner with engineering throughout design, development, testing, and release
• Validate that delivered features meet requirements and perform as intended
• Support release planning and ensure smooth, reliable production deployments

• Experience as a Software Development Project Manager or in a similar product/technical delivery role
• Comfortable operating in a small, high‑ownership team environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to make informed decisions and tradeoffs
• Experience working with compliance‑driven, enterprise, or mission‑critical systems

• Experience scaling or modernizing existing software platforms
• Hands‑on collaboration with engineering teams on feature validation and release readiness

Salary: $130,000 per year
