I’m working with a leading tier 1 global hedge fund that is looking to hire a Full Stack Java / React Developer to join its Post-Trade Technology team in New York.

This is a fast‑paced, highly collaborative role sitting close to the business, where technology plays a central role in driving efficiency, transparency, and insight across post‑trade operations. You’ll work directly with teams across Operations, Treasury, and Compliance, building intuitive, high‑performance tools that help the firm better understand risk, opportunity, and market behaviour.

The role offers full ownership of the development lifecycle — from requirements gathering through to implementation and testing — and provides excellent exposure to both senior technologists and business users, including portfolio managers. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong engineering fundamentals with real‑world financial problem‑solving.

• Design and develop full stack applications using Java on the backend and React/Type Script on the frontend.
• Work closely with post‑trade business teams to automate processes and improve workflows through technology.
• Build reusable UI components to accelerate delivery and ensure consistency across internal platforms.
• Analyse, integrate, and maintain data feeds from counter parties and prime brokers.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to build systems and components used across the wider firm.
• Take ownership of solutions end‑to‑end, contributing to design discussions, implementation, testing, and ongoing enhancement.

• 3‑5 years of commercial experience with core Java and React / Type Script (or similar modern frontend frameworks).
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Prior exposure to financial services (buy‑side or sell‑side), with familiarity across financial products.
• Strong interest in the business side of finance and confidence working directly with end users.
• Curious, proactive mindset with a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic trading environment.
