Your OpportunityAs a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will serve as a senior individual contributor within the engineering team, partnering closely with Product, Data & Analytics, and the Lead Frontend Engineer to help deliver a polished, intuitive frontend experience for Foresight’s platform. This role sits at the intersection of design, data, and technology, with a focus on building scalable user interfaces in an AI‑driven environment that make complex investment information accessible and actionable for private equity and venture capital clients.
You will contribute both hands‑on development and technical guidance, supporting the execution of frontend initiatives while helping elevate engineering best practices across the team. Operating in a fast‑growing startup environment, this role offers meaningful influence on how the product evolves, exposure to the workflows and decision‑making of the private market ecosystem, and the opportunity to help shape a platform used by sophisticated investment professionals.
This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and is based in the New York City metro area, operating on a hybrid schedule, requiring 2–3 days per week onsite (Tribeca). Travel is not expected at this time.
Responsibilities- Partner closely with the Product and Design teams to scope features, contribute to clear product requirements, and support delivery through agile development cycles.
- Collaborate with the Lead Frontend Engineer to implement frontend solutions that align with agreed technical direction and architectural standards.
- Innovate with AI features that push the boundaries of what natural language can do and take advantage of the latest advances in generative data visualization for web and mobile.
- Contribute to frontend best practices across code quality, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Participate in defining and tracking product KPIs such as usage, adoption, and client satisfaction, providing frontend insights and improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and day‑to‑day technical guidance.
- Collaborate with backend, data, and AI teams to deliver end‑to‑end product features.
- Operate effectively in a fast‑paced, early‑stage startup environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field; commensurate years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional web application development experience, with ownership of complex frontend features or systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in React and modern frontend development patterns.
- Strong experience collaborating closely with UX and Product teams to deliver user‑centered solutions.
- Proven ability to write scalable, maintainable code in JavaScript and Type Script, including client‑server single‑page applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of web services and APIs, including REST and/or Graph
