Equity Finance Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technology development and support for the ITEC DEAI Equity Finance team. Candidate should have experience working with real-time and batch transaction processing systems and knowledge of trading and settlement systems. Candidate should have experience with the full project development life cycle within NT / Unix environments.

Candidate will be responsible for the analysis, design, programming and unit testing of software enhancements and projects, as well as production support for existing applications and processes. Candidate will also be responsible for performing research on production issues as they arise, and will be required to work with the user community to clarify requirements, validate test results and respond to requests for support.

Documentation of all development will be required, with turnover of processes to our production support team.

Specific applications development and support responsibilities will apply to front and back office equity finance systems.

Required / Must have :

• Java, J2EE, XML, HTPP, Java Script
• MS SQL Server
• Database modeling
• Windows and Unix Shell / Perl scripting
• NT / XP / MS Office Suite

Desired / Plus :

• Middleware (Corba, MQ, Tuxedo)
• Oracle / Sybase
• Application Servers (Weblogic, JBoss)
• Visual Basic
• Unix / Linux

Required / Must have :

• Knowledge of trading and brokerage operations – front to back
• Lending and Borrowing concepts
• Clearance / Settlement concepts

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, appropriate to a given audience, (technical, functional, etc.)
• Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities.

• Must be able to interact with a variety of teams – support, infrastructure, development.
• Must be able to provide accurate estimation of work effort, and effective status to management as well as clients.

• Equities front / back office applications experience in the brokerage industry
• Full project life cycle experience
• Production support experience
• Experience providing documentation to both technical and client audiences
• Approximately 3-5 years of work experience

• Derivatives systems experience
• Compliance surveillance software experience

Required / Must have :

BS in Computer Science / Finance or related field
