Founding Product Engineer

Our client, an AI-driven healthcare organization, are hiring a Founding Product Engineer to join their team in New York. The successful candidate will become a key member of an early-stage team, taking ownership of high-impact initiatives and delivering end-to-end features relied upon daily by hundreds of thousands of clinicians and healthcare operators.

• Design, build and deploy AI-powered features, including intelligent agents that audit medical records and flag issues that may jeopardize treatment approval.
• Take full ownership of projects from discovery and requirements through to deployment and iteration.
• Deliver high-quality solutions while leveraging a fast, reliable CI/CD pipeline to ship with confidence.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks by working closely with users.
• Measure impact through back-office time saved, improved case review accuracy and increased treatment approvals.
• Contribute to and shape engineering culture, influencing architecture decisions, tooling, code review standards and team practices.

• At least 2 years of product engineering experience, preferably in an early-stage environment.
• Strong proficiency in Type Script and React, with the ability to confidently work across complex codebases.
• Solid experience with SQL and relational databases, including writing efficient queries, designing well-structured schemas and applying sound data modelling principles.
• Experience with AI-native development, including shipping production LLM-powered features, prompt engineering, tool integration and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Demonstrated systems thinking, with a clear understanding of cloud tooling and architecture, and the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs effectively.
