We are seeking a Fullstack Engineer III to join the team at Hinge!
In this role, you will focus on evolving existing internal web applications and building new UIs that support critical workflows across the organization. You’ll work primarily on hands‑on fullstack development—improving usability, expanding functionality, and delivering reliable features that help internal teams operate more effectively.
This role is well‑suited for an engineer who enjoys building practical, user‑facing tools, iterating on established systems, and shipping high‑quality features within a modern, cloud‑native environment. You’ll collaborate closely with your engineering teammates and product partners to deliver thoughtful, maintainable solutions.
Responsibilities- UI Development & Iteration: Evolve and enhance existing internal web applications, improving usability, performance, and feature depth.
- New Feature Delivery: Build new frontend and backend features that support internal operational and product workflows.
- Fullstack Engineering: Design, implement, test, and ship scalable features across the stack with a strong emphasis on clean, maintainable code.
- API & Service Development: Develop and extend backend services and APIs that power internal tools and integrations.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to uphold engineering standards and improve system reliability.
- Operational Support: Participate in a weeklong alternating on‑call rotation to support the systems you help build.
- Modern Stack Development: Work within a cloud‑native environment leveraging technologies such as Go, React, Kubernetes, AWS, gRPC, Postgres, Redis, and Kafka.
- Fullstack
Experience:
3+ years of experience building and shipping production‑ready software across the stack. - Backend Strength: Experience building APIs and backend services in a production environment. Experience with Go is a plus.
- Frontend
Experience:
Experience building React‑based applications and integrating them with backend APIs. - Engineering Fundamentals: Strong foundation in software engineering principles and a consistent ability to write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code.
- Systems Familiarity: Exposure to cloud‑native and distributed systems concepts (e.g., Kubernetes, event‑driven systems, Kafka, gRPC/Protobuf).
- Collaboration & Communication: Comfortable working with product partners and engineering teammates to deliver scoped features effectively.
- Growth Orientation: Eagerness to learn, improve systems incrementally, and take ownership of well‑defined projects.
$150,000 - $180,000 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job‑related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
