Role and Location

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Quality Engineer to join our Structured Debt Client Platform team. This role is located in New York, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Lead test planning, test estimation, and optimize with automation
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for front-end applications using technologies such as Angular, NodeJS, JavaScript, and Type Script
  • Implement back-end API testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks like JMeter, Selenium (Web Driver), Jasmine, and Cucumber
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python, C, or Java for back-end automation and scripting tasks
  • Utilize expertise in JavaScript and Type Script to develop and enhance front-end test scripts, particularly for Angular applications
  • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies to ensure comprehensive test coverage and effective cross-functional collaboration
  • Work with testing frameworks such as JMeter, Selenium, Jasmine, Cucumber, and API-based frameworks for testing back-end services
  • Leverage tools like Veracode and Sonar Qube to conduct security assessments and ensure code quality standards are met
  • Utilize Serenity and Playwright for end-to-end testing of Angular 16 applications
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases for data integrity in testing scenarios
  • Collaborate with AWS Code Services and AWS infrastructure teams to streamline the CI/CD process
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure a shared understanding of testing requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience in a systems quality environment
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer with a focus on both front-end and back-end automation
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C, or Java, JavaScript, and Type Script
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as JMeter, Selenium, Jasmine, and Cucumber
  • Knowledge of Mortgage-based security (MBS) preferred
  • Familiarity with Veracode and Sonar Qube for code security and quality assessments
  • Knowledge of Serenity and Playwright for end-to-end testing of Angular applications
  • Experience with AWS Code Services and Spring Boot is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership experience to lead a team of 4 to 6 Automation Engineers
  • Ability to coordinate with Scrum leads/PMs, Tech Leads, UAT, and other project teams
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
Compensation, Benefits, and Legal

BNY offers highly competitive compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs rooted in a strong culture of excellence and a pay-for-performance philosophy. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $83,000 and $145,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary is determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is part of the total compensation package, which may include commissions, discretionary bonuses, incentive packages, and company-sponsored benefits.

This position is at-will, and the company reserves the right to modify base pay and other compensation at any time, including for individual performance, geographic location, department, or market factors.
