Software Engineer III - Data Ingestion and Onboarding, NG-SIEM; Hybrid

As our Software Engineer III, you’ll be part of the GDI (Getting Data In) group under NG-SIEM with a focus on data ingestion at petabyte-scale. The group supports data ingestion and onboarding for NG-SIEM customers, ingesting several petabytes of data per day across multiple regions from 100+ first- and third-party data sources.

You will work on a broad area of the product including ingest pipeline, data enrichment, alerting and real-time searches. You will work on large-scale distributed systems and collaborate cross-team with frontend engineers, UX designers and product managers.

The NG-SIEM team emphasizes autonomy and ownership of the experience from ideation to deployment and feedback. Responsibilities include ensuring high quality features through automated and manual testing.

This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in NYC.

• Enable petabyte-scale data ingestion at millions of events per second with sub-second latency
• Solve hard problems in distributed systems, including high availability, reliability, performance and cost optimization
• Develop systems in Scala and Go
• Support globally available, multi-region systems in production
• Lead and participate in cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects
• Collaborate with a team of friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable colleagues
• Follow software development best practices: code review, automated tests, agile development, retrospectives, incremental improvements and continuous deployment
• Troubleshoot critical production issues
• Participate in scoping, designing and developing new features
• Continuously improve internal tools and processes
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and collaborate confidently with internal stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident and work solely from U.S. soil
• MS in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent experience
• Fluency in at least one programming language, preferably one running on the JVM
• Can-do attitude and thrive in a team environment with responsibility ownership
• 4+ years of Backend Engineer experience

• Experience programming in Scala and/or Go
• Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with Kafka
• Strong debugging skills
• Experience developing complex software applications
• Hands-on experience with large-scale distributed system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization

The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off. For detailed U.S. benefits information, please refer to the appropriate resources.
