Position: Front End Engineer (React Native)
Location: New York

What’s the role?

As a Front End Engineer (React Native) at Bilt, you’ll join a renowned team that is transforming the future of renting. You’ll be working closely with the frontend engineering and product teams to develop user-facing features and given the to work across the React Native mobile app.

We are targeting levels from 5+ years:
Front End Engineers, Senior Front End Engineers, and Staff Front End Engineers. Level is decided throughout the interview process.

In this role you will:
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Identify opportunities to refactor and make features more robust
  • Coordinate with QA to test new features
  • Be responsible for writing unit and integration tests
  • Work together with the backend team to come up with requirements for an API
In terms of qualifications, we’re seeking:
  • 6+ years of React experience
  • 3+ years of React Native experience
  • Proven hands‑on Software Development experience
  • Proven experience in React Native, Type Script/JavaScript, Redux/Global state management frameworks
  • Strong UX design skills, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of how to optimize the delivery of code and assets to a browser or device
  • Ability to articulate the benefits and challenges of depending on front-end libraries, frameworks, and tool-sets
  • Ability to write testable code
  • Great interpersonal skills with a team‑player disposition
  • Knowledge of the start‑up world preferred
  • A burning desire to win and reach overall company goals

Bilt's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range.

The salary range for a Front End Engineer (React Native) is 160, and will be eligible for equity and an annual performance based bonus.
