Engineering Manager (Finance)

Warby Parker is seeking a dedicated Engineering Manager to guide and inspire a team in delivering enterprise-level business systems, including order management, fulfillment, supply chain, and accounting systems. Your primary responsibility will be to support the talented Software Engineers on your team and help them excel in their careers, create exceptional software, and stay engaged in their work at Warby Parker.

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, you and your team will collaborate with Product Managers to execute roadmaps that empower Software Product teams to achieve our strategic objectives. Working cross-functionally, your team will help design robust, intuitive features in record time.

• Build and lead a team of Engineers through hiring, coaching, mentorship, feedback, and career development
• Work closely with Product Management to ensure the delivery of high-performing applications and services
• Ensure the timely delivery of engineering work to meet business needs and architecture standards
• Build a metrics-driven operational culture, helping build out our practices for KPI measurement and review, as well as for logging, monitoring, and alerting practices
• Demonstrate an unbeatable drive for results, a focus on customer empathy, and a long-term vision for software products, continually delivering work in an agile and iterative manner
• Keep your team engaged and excited about their work
• Establish, monitor, and maintain fantastic communication across departments to ensure transparency around how product work is prioritized and managed, as well as how key metrics are performing
• Set and enforce the highest standards in software production, adhering to our core values of trust and transparency

• Backed by 7+ years of relevant work experience or in a Dev Ops practicing organization, with direct management of at least 6 people
• Well-versed in domain modeling and system design
• Experienced at working with cloud providers, distributed systems, and service-oriented architecture
• Driven by a desire to build and maintain strong relationships, help others with their career development, and create inclusive environments
• Equipped with stellar interpersonal and communication skills in groups of different sizes and levels of technical expertise-you’re an eloquent, empathetic influencer with excellent leadership and negotiation skills
• Able to evaluate performance objectively and rationally, hold teammates accountable for meeting shared goals, and make tough, complex decisions
• Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

• Proficient in using Golang and Python
• Experience working for a company that has a significant consumer-facing element, like retail or ecommerce
• Formal knowledge of process improvement methodologies
• Experience with cross-functional teams or matrix organization

For applicable postings, non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay if you are required to work more than 40 hours in a workweek.
