We are currently recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer (Machine Learning) in the Hartford, CT or NYC (midtown) area. This is a hybrid role that requires at least 1 day in-office per month (west Hartford office or NYC midtown office). The ideal candidate will have experience working with modern test automation approach who writes code to ensure quality outcomes. The candidate will have strong technical skills in SQL, Python testing frameworks specifically Pytest.

- Engaging with stakeholders to understand what they need from our data applications.
- Collaborate with product owners, converting those needs into clear and testable requirements.
- Develop automated tests to ensure our code delivers to those requirements and regression is not impacted by future development.
- Building, expanding and improving automation frameworks to ensure our testing is effective and efficient.
- Collaborate with data engineers to help them deliver quality code, and to ensure our test coverage is coherent and comprehensive.
- Participate in code reviews for data and quality engineers with a continuous improvement mindset.
- 3-5+ years’ experience developing automated tests.
- Deep familiarity with behavior-driven-development approaches including the Cucumber/Gherkin syntax for test scenarios
- Experience working using a modern test automation approach. You will be an SDET who writes code to ensure quality outcomes.
- Excellent knowledge of and proven experience with Python testing frameworks particularly pytest.
- Good knowledge of SQL and ideally of dbt.
- Hands-on experience working with modern cloud data lakehouse technologies e.g. Databricks (preferred) or Snowflake.
- Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical team members in agile Scrum ceremonies – roadmap planning, feature workshops, backlog elaboration, code review.
