Overview
A fast-growing fintech are looking for an Associate-equivalent Python developer to join a dynamic technology team to support a cutting-edge capital markets technology product that is both AI and blockchain enabled.
You will initially work within a data engineering team, partnering with the business to develop back-end solutions to enable business user analytics. This will include automating data extraction from complex documents using a proprietary framework, as well as contributing to the development of NLP algorithms, tools and interfaces to enhance efficiency, and other back-end tasks, from database queries to API development.
Doing this will give you a strong grounding in the complexities and nuances of the product code, which will be necessary to progress in a technical function within the organisation. The firm are given dynamic and in the medium-term this can open opportunities across platform and product engineering, as well as in AI teams, depending on the skillset of the individual.
Responsibilities- Develop back-end solutions to enable business user analytics in a data engineering context.
- Automate data extraction from complex documents using a proprietary framework.
- Contribute to NLP algorithms, tools and interfaces to improve efficiency.
- Perform database queries and API development as part of back-end tasks.
- 4+ years development and engineering experience in Python in commercial environments
- Strong Python skills and libraries including PDFLib, ply.lex and/or plx.yaac
- Solid experience in Dev Ops (CI/CD) environments and Git-based versioning tools
- Excellent communication and organization skills in a fast-paced product-focused environment
- Degree educated or higher in a relevant technical subject
This is a $150,000 - $180,000 annual role, based New York. Hybrid working pattern, typically 4 or 5 days per month in office.
