The RoleThey’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead a mid‑sized team developing their next‑generation Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. This platform is at the heart of their products and powers many AI‑enabled tools and operational solutions used in clinical settings.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting the technical direction, defining architecture, and ensuring high‑quality delivery. You’ll work closely with leaders across Product, Design, AI, and Operations to deliver products that have real impact on healthcare teams and patients. This is a highly visible role that requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a product‑focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and grow a mid‑sized engineering team, promoting a culture of ownership, collaboration, and high performance.
- Define and evolve the platform architecture to ensure it is scalable, reliable, secure, and flexible for future growth.
- Collaborate across Product, Design, AI, and Operations to deliver a unified roadmap and high‑quality solutions.
- Improve engineering processes around planning, execution, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor senior engineers and encourage strong technical judgment and constructive problem‑solving.
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex software products.
- Strong architectural and systems‑thinking skills.
- Experience collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams.
- Passion for improving healthcare workflows and creating meaningful impact for end users.
- Experience with EHRs, clinical software, or regulated healthcare environments.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, SOC
2).
