As an AI Engineer at Candid Health, you’ll bring Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning to the forefront of healthcare automation. You’ll translate initial prototypes into foundational, high‑impact ML/AI use cases throughout our platform and customer base, building strategic solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

• Own outcomes & apply AI to real problems, building features into Candid’s platform that change the patient and provider experience.
• Drive our technical AI strategy: identify opportunities for AI/ML, research best practices, and scale prototypes across our customer base.
• Partner with leadership to automate and scale products with high technical complexity, such as claim submission, resubmission, and workflow optimization.
• Architect AI infrastructure, structure data, and establish rigorous processes for model training, testing, and monitoring that meet security and scalability standards.

• Bachelors or Masters of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or related field.
• 8+ years of experience building software of significant scale and complexity.
• 5+ years of professional AI engineering experience, preferably applied to real‑world solutions.
• Proven experience building ML systems (e.g., NLP models) and selecting appropriate tools, frameworks, and libraries.
• Strong understanding of trade‑offs between deterministic ML and non‑deterministic LLM approaches to maximize ROI.
• Customer‑first and learner mindset, with a passion for teaching others.
• Clear, concise communicator capable of explaining complex ideas simply.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Postgre
  
  SQL, Metabase, Terraform, and Python is a plus.

The estimated starting annual salary range is $195,000 to $255,000 USD. Total compensation may also include equity and other benefits.
