Senior Software Engineer – Privileging Platform
Join Bloomberg as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on the privileged access platform for enterprise trading and analytics.
Base Pay Range: $160,000 – $240,000 per year.

Bloomberg’s Platform mindset transformation is evolving our role‑based access control (RBAC) system into a comprehensive Privileging Platform. By leveraging the core RBAC foundation, we empower clients to manage user access, permissions, and resources across the enterprise domain while providing internal self‑service UIs to onboard new products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and release high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable code for a high‑load distributed system.
- Own the full software development lifecycle and collaborate with business counterparts to build applications that tackle privileging problems.
- Enhance reliability, scalability, and performance by evolving the system into a true platform capable of handling diverse privilegeing needs.
- Introduce modern technologies and foster constant innovation within an Agile environment.

You Need To Have
- Experience programming in a production environment using C++ or an equivalent object‑oriented language (e.g., Java, C#).
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data‑oriented problem‑solving.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience building highly available, high‑throughput distributed systems.
- Ownership mindset and ability to navigate uncertainties independently.
- Curiosity and passion for understanding complex products and learning new technologies.
- Full software development lifecycle experience including design, implementation, and project management.

- Experience with scalability, load balancing, performance optimization, fault tolerance, auto‑scaling, caching strategies, resource isolation, monitoring, and logging.
