Associate Technical Architect; Java - NY or NJ

About the role
We are looking for an Associate Technical Architect (Java) to design, build, and scale modern backend systems using Java and cloud-native architectures. This role is ideal for senior engineers who enjoy working on microservices, AWS infrastructure, and distributed systems, and who are comfortable operating at both hands‑on and design levels. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to build resilient backend services that support enterprise‑scale platforms.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices

• Build and maintain services using Java (11/17/21) and Spring Boot

• Design and develop RESTful APIs

• Work extensively with AWS services including Dynamo
  
  DB, S3, Lambda, IAM, and EKS

• Ensure scalability, performance, and responsiveness of applications

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet technical and business requirements

• Stay current with backend technologies and architectural best practices

• Strong proficiency in Java, with hands‑on experience in Java 11 / 17 / 21

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture using Spring & Spring Boot

• Experience with AWS cloud services, especially Dynamo
  
  DB and EKS

• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git Hub, Spinnaker)

• Familiarity with Scala (and/or Python)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Experience with Docker, Kafka, Datadog

• Experience deploying applications to AWS using EKS

• Exposure to large‑scale, distributed enterprise systems
