Senior Back-End Developer

Join our growing development team at Ptera Technologies, where innovation meets impact. We are seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to join our development team. This role is for experienced engineers who are comfortable owning backend services, making architectural decisions, and working on production systems ’ll collaborate closely with front-end developers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, reliable software.

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade backend services and APIs.
• Take ownership of backend systems, from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Make and contribute to architecture and system design decisions.
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and performant.
• Collaborate closely with front-end engineers and product stakeholders.
• Review code, enforce best practices, and mentor other developers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.
• Actively participate in agile planning, estimation, and sprint reviews.

• 5+ years of experience as a Back-End Developer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in one or more back-end languages (e.g., Node.js, Java, or GO), deep expertise in one of the backend languages with readiness to work.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (Postgre
  
  SQL/MySQL) and familiarity with No
  
  SQL systems.
• Solid understanding of system design, API design, and backend architecture.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Proven ability to debug, optimize, and maintain live systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Experience setting up or working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to distributed systems, background jobs, or event-driven architectures.
