Location:
New York, NY (in-office at least 3 days a week)
- Design, develop and deliver modules for our proprietary portfolio management system, which includes portfolio construction as well as workflow management
- Model the business data into the right data store
- Add automations to the infrastructure
- Assist in maintaining and improving existing software applications
- Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code
- Work directly with Ethic’s engineering, product, and business teams throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
- Strong programming skills in Java
- Knowledge of RDBMS;
No
SQL experience a plus - Experience in portfolio construction and/or workflow management a plus
- Strong understanding of functional programming paradigms
- Familiarity with unit testing tools
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Passionate about Software and technology; interest in Asset Management a plus
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills

Compensation & BenefitsCompensation at Ethic is a combination of base salary, equity (stock options) in the company, and benefits.
The base salary for this role will range from $175,000–$195,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
