Senior Platform Engineer

We’re seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to help build and scale Daytona’s core components. You’ll work on the APIs, orchestrator, and supporting services that form the backbone of Daytona’s runtime layer.

This is a highly technical role where you’ll architect, implement, and optimize mission-critical infrastructure that powers thousands of developers and millions of AI agents. If building reliable, elegant, and extensible platforms excites you, this role is for you.

Design, build, and maintain Daytona’s core APIs and orchestrator

Develop supporting services and tooling that improve scalability and reliability

Collaborate with AI and systems engineers to ensure seamless integrations across the stack

Improve developer experience through robust abstractions and interfaces

Contribute to standards and best practices for system design and service architecture

Write documentation, developer guides, and tooling references

Have experience building distributed systems, APIs, and large-scale services

Are comfortable with orchestration, scheduling, and service-to-service communication

Care deeply about reliability, security, and performance at scale

Write clean, maintainable code and value long-term platform stability

Enjoy working across multiple layers of the stack

Experience with Kubernetes, container runtimes, or orchestration frameworks

Familiarity with developer tooling, infra platforms, or AI runtime layers

Contributions to open-source projects in distributed systems or platform engineering
