At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower and promote independence for at‑risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community based services.
The Recruitment Specialist plays a vital role in strengthening our Foster Care Programs by building meaningful connections within the community and inspiring adults to become Foster Parents. This dynamic position is responsible for driving outreach, follow‑up, and relationship‑building efforts, while also contributing to the planning, development, and execution of innovative strategies that attract, engage, and guide prospective foster parents through the certification process for our NYC and Westchester programs.
Responsibilities- Recruit prospective foster homes for the Family Foster Care and Therapeutic Family Foster Care programs in NYC and Westchester.
- Promote CMCS’ foster care programs at community events, information sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Attract applicants through community networking, leveraging existing foster parents, advertising efforts, and outreach collaborations with recruiters and community partners.
- Develop innovative marketing techniques and strategies to engage and attract prospective foster parents.
- Build applicant pipelines by researching and connecting with community organizations, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media outlets, and online platforms; present program information and maintain strong community rapport.
- Maintain tracking and documentation of all outreach activities and inquiries.
- Collaborate closely with the Program Intake Unit to ensure that recruited foster parents align with current program needs and child placement trends.
- Conduct Foster Parent Orientation sessions as needed.
- Support the foster parent onboarding and certification process.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field strongly preferred
- Prior Child Welfare experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred

Salary: $55,000 per year
