Location: New York

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Worker for our Entertainment Assistance Program. The clients of the Entertainment Community Fund are a diverse, dynamic and engaging group of working professionals which include musicians, actors, stage managers, set designers, hair and make-up stylists, costume designers, ushers, and radio hosts, to name a few.

The agency is seeking a clinically oriented Social Worker to join our Entertainment Assistance Program (EAP) Team providing client-centered clinical case management, supportive counseling, and financial assistance to adult professionals in performing arts and entertainment.

Responsibilities

The EAP social worker will engage with a wide variety of individuals and their families in a clinical process that facilitates development of assessments and treatment plans. This includes clinical case management, evaluating and advocating for financial assistance, as well as serving as a liaison to additional resources. The social worker will help the client access public and community resources and facilitate connections to health insurance, medical providers, public benefits and community organizations.

The Social worker will provide crisis intervention, mental health assessments and connection to community providers and resources. The social worker will have the opportunity to develop and facilitate groups and workshops that address the needs of the performing arts and entertainment community.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other programs of The Entertainment Community Fund as well as unions, industry management and community organizations to facilitate treatment plans and services. Additionally, they will identify and develop relationships with community and mental health resources and provide outreach to the community to promote services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work and State Licensure.
  • Strong assessment, intensive clinical case management, and advocacy skills. Crisis intervention skills and the ability to engage in a wide range of presentations.
  • Organized and able to handle diverse tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Effective time management and the ability to create an organizational system is required.
  • Consistently convey a sense of empathy with clients and demonstrate solid clinical acumen. Value and have the willingness to use the individual and group clinical supervision process to reflect, observe and enhance clinical practice.
  • Worker will adhere to and be compliant with the licensing code of ethics.
  • A commitment to cultural humility in social work practice.
  • Availability to assist in agency-wide outreach to the entertainment community to provide information about the Entertainment Community Fund.
  • Available to conduct groups, seminars or trainings during the evenings as needed.
Preferred Qualities
  • Experience working within a crisis intervention as well as a brief treatment model.
  • Experience with the entertainment and performing arts community is helpful.
  • Experience creating and facilitating groups such as support, psychoeducation, and affinity.
  • Bilingual:
    Spanish/English
About This Position

This is a full-time salaried or hourly position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City. Compensation
