Job SummaryThe Activity Counselor Division Leader provides leadership and oversight for all non‑waterfront Activity Counselors, ensuring high‑quality programming, consistent supervision, and a strong, respectful staff culture across activity areas. This role is responsible for program quality, staff coaching, and the planning, staffing, and execution of evening programming and camp‑wide activities.
This position reports to the Camp Program Director and works closely with camp leadership.
Division Leaders work as part of a collaborative leadership team and are expected to partner closely with fellow Division Leaders across cabins, activities, and the Counselor‑in‑Training program. This role requires consistent communication, shared problem‑solving, mutual support, and collective responsibility for camper safety, staff development, and overall camp operations.
Mandatory attendance at Admin Staff Training (June 8–18, 2026) and General Staff Training (June 22–July 3, 2026) is required.
ResponsibilitiesSupervision, Leadership, and Development
Supervise Activity Counselors during daily and evening programming and provide ongoing observation, coaching, and performance feedback.
Actively engage and empower Activity Counselors, providing guidance and support to build confidence, consistency, and leadership capacity.
Programming Integration and Operational Coordination
Provide leadership and oversight for all non‑waterfront activity programming, ensuring activities are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with camp values and expectations.
Serve as the primary planner and lead for evening programming and camp‑wide activities, including theme alignment, activity design, and staffing assignments.
Assign Activity Counselors to evening programs and camp‑wide events, ensuring appropriate supervision, clear roles, and smooth execution.
Documentation, Evaluation, Escalation, and Training Collaboration
Collaborate closely with other Division Leaders to identify trends, address concerns, and support consistent leadership decision‑making.
Lead activity‑specific training sessions during Admin Training, with support from the Senior Leadership Team.
Support General Staff Training through co‑facilitation, modeling expectations, and reinforcing standards related to programming, supervision, and behavior management.
Support Counselor‑in‑Training (CIT) development indirectly through guidance and coaching provided to Activity Counselors supervising CITs within activity areas.
