Description
The Family Resource Specialist must work with parents and families to provide linkages to community based programs in the Bronx.
Job Responsibilities:- Knowledge of DOE protocols and processes such as fair hearings, the Committee on Special Education and Citywide Standards of Intervention and Disciplinary Measures.
- Experience working with families/children in a programmatic setting.
- Demonstrates case management skills.
- Ability to develop and conduct workshops with families and school personnel.
- Ability to maintain communication with school with school personnel and parents.
- Ability to develop agenda and facilitate meetings with families and various stakeholders within the school & program.
- Experience supporting parents with DOE/CSE meetings or fair hearings.
- Knowledge of community based programs in the Bronx.
- Experience working with parents to provide linkages to community based programs.
- Ability to participate in meetings sponsored by citywide programs.
- 4 weeks paid vacation annually.
- 13 paid holidays.
- 4 personal days.
- 1 sick day per month, accruable to 150 days.
