Shift:
Monday‑Friday 2 pm–10:30 pm (Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week)
- Provide direct outreach, escort, and referral services for all homeless individuals encountered in the field during the shift.
- Record and maintain accurate statistical data on all individuals approached and referred and manage case records for clients receiving longer‑term services.
- Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and substance‑abuse issues and gain working knowledge of available services.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday 2 pm–10:30 pm)
Qualifications- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience.
- Current BRC employees in Community Technician, Program Aide, or comparable roles with at least 6 months continuous employment will also be considered.
- Strong interest in direct services to the homeless, mentally ill, or substance‑abusing populations.
- Valid state driver’s license required.
- Good writing skills for client interaction reports.
- Basic computer literacy required.
- Ability to speak Spanish desirable.
- First‑Aid/CPR certification required or ability to pass certification test.

Program DescriptionBRC’s Transit Homeless Outreach staff operate throughout the transit system 24/7, providing outreach and case‑management services to assist homeless individuals in permanently relocating from MTA properties. The program serves the NYC metro area, including Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens.
