Responsibilities
  • As the Domestic Violence Advocate
    , you will play a pivotal role in individuals  lives, making a significant impact through:
  • Responsible for calls received during office hours and walk-in clients.
  • Complete an intake form with each client that includes an assessment of needed supports and services, available resources, and a service plan for implementation.
  • Provide referrals and linkages to other community agencies as appropriate.
  • Provide advocacy for victims applying for other services to live violence and abuse free.
  • Accompany clients to court, to the police station, to DSS and to doctors as deemed necessary.
  • Assist with finding safe housing for clients, and supportive counseling.
  • Assist clients with understanding their rights and with completing any associated paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate and complete case notes.
Compensation

Domestic Violence Advocate Minimum Salary: $20.00

Domestic Violence Advocate Maximum Salary: $25.00

Schedule

Domestic Violence Advocate Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00-4:00 (35 hours per week)

Qualifications
  • VALID NYS Driver s License
  • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Associate s Degree preferred
  • 1 year working with a diverse population
