Responsibilities- As the Domestic Violence Advocate
, you will play a pivotal role in individuals lives, making a significant impact through: - Responsible for calls received during office hours and walk-in clients.
- Complete an intake form with each client that includes an assessment of needed supports and services, available resources, and a service plan for implementation.
- Provide referrals and linkages to other community agencies as appropriate.
- Provide advocacy for victims applying for other services to live violence and abuse free.
- Accompany clients to court, to the police station, to DSS and to doctors as deemed necessary.
- Assist with finding safe housing for clients, and supportive counseling.
- Assist clients with understanding their rights and with completing any associated paperwork.
- Maintain accurate and complete case notes.
Domestic Violence Advocate Minimum Salary: $20.00
Domestic Violence Advocate Maximum Salary: $25.00
ScheduleDomestic Violence Advocate Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00-4:00 (35 hours per week)
- VALID NYS Driver s License
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate s Degree preferred
- 1 year working with a diverse population
